September 21, 2008- September 27, 2008
Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History
165 Forest Ave
Pacific Grove, CA 93950
The Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History encourages our visitors to participate in Sea Otter Awareness Week by visiting our permanent exhibit on the Southern Sea Otter housed in the upstairs gallery of the Museum. The exhibit features specimens of a full-grown adult Southern Sea Otter and a pup, as well as examples of their specialized skeletal features, food resources, and tool use.
The exhibit discusses the role of Southern Sea Otters as a keystone species in our near-shore marine environment, and the important role that they play in preserving kelp forest habitats in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. The Museum is open to the public on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and admission is free.
Visit the Museum's website at www.pgmuseum.org for directions.
