Phaedra Booth
California Outreach Representative
Areas of expertise: Grassroots organizing, conservation issues
Phaedra is the California organizer on Defenders’ national outreach team. She works across the state with diverse grassroots constituencies and the media to increase public support for wildlife conservation and to mobilize citizen advocates. Phaedra also recently completed Al Gore’s training to be a certified presenter for his movie, An Inconvenient Truth.
Before joining Defenders in 2005, Phaedra was a grassroots Campaign Director for the Sierra Club, Human Rights Campaign, OXFAM, and Greenpeace with the Fund for Public Interest Research in the Sacramento and San Francisco Bay Areas. She also participated in the 2004 elections as a Field Organizer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for MoveOn.org.
Phaedra received her BA in American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. She is originally from Palos Verdes, California.
